Muslim Intolerance

Chris Muir hits the nail squarely on head in his comic today, highlighting middle-eastern hypocrisy. Muslims are promoting a boycott of all things Danish, after a the Newspaper, Jyllands-Posten, printed 12 cartoon charicatures of Mohammed. One toon showed the prophet with a turban made from a bomb. Although there's supposed to be a Koranic ban on graven images of the prophet, iconic and other images of Mohammed are reportedly available from street vendors in Iran. Those images can be seen: here, on Zombietime.

Yes, it and other of the images were disrepectful of a major world religion, and stuff like that diminishes us all. If this stuff upsets you however, remember that many of these cartoonist's protests are attacking the so-called followers of Islam, who pervert it for their own vile purposes and don't mind stooping to intimidation and violence. The newspaper in question ran the images as part of an experiment after a local author couldn't find any illustrators brave enough to illustrate his book about Islam - every one he'd approached was too fearful for their safety.

Mid-stream media is largely ignoring this story so far, but support for the Danes is growing. Michelle Malkin comments in Jewish review, " Despite how relatively tame the pictures actually are (compared not only to Western standards, but also to the vicious, anti-Semitic propaganda regularly churned out by Arab cartoonists), the drawings have literally inflamed the radical Muslim world and its apologists." Michelle Malkin, Cox & Forkum, Little Green Footballs, have all weighed in squarely on the side of the Danes.

Bill Clinton is publicly supporting the Muslims, which is a good enough endorsement to sway me to the Danes. Ol slick willy said the 'toons were 'appalling." Don't wait for him to criticise the Muslim press for their anti-jewish propaganda.

I like how Jack Rich summed this whole issue up in 2003, I wrote it down and Here it is for you all too: Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness:
"The conflict between the West and Islam will be over when it is just as safe and easy to open a synagogue in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as it is now to open a mosque in Dearborn, Michigan. ...Don't hold your breath"
